“Rooms
within” is a new centre in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is run by people with
personal experience of mental illness. The aim is to present to the public what
life is like living with a mental disability. It is important to hear from a
group whose voice is seldom heard in society. “Rooms within” is
supported economically by the Swedish Allmänna Arvsfonden.
“Rooms within”
is still under construction. The project was launched in early 2007 and the
actual centre will open in the summer of 2009.
We
invite all people with personal experience of mental illness to take part
in the work.
